Who loves a Summer Fruit Salad?
This is a simple, yet effective and delicious meal or snack. I say effective because it’s actually rather filling as a whole meal replacer! I love this Summer Fruit Salad! It is a creative way to get your daily dose of fruits, and maybe pack in a few super foods as well (you can sprinkle some goji berries on top, just sayin’)!
When you are feeling a cold coming on, having stomach problems, or just need something to satisfy your taste buds on a summer day, this salad is perfectly packed with vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, and sweetness. If I’m ever doing a fruit fast for half of the day, this is my go-to meal right here. And thanks to the avocados inside, I get the fats I need, banana helps to fill me up, and the skin of the peaches and blueberries are an excellent source of fiber for my day! The more colorful you can make this salad, the better it is for you honestly.
Get creative with it!
Perhaps you can find some really cool berries like mulberries to add with it, or just stick to some basics like tangerines and cherries. Whatever you can find in season, locally grown, organic and affordable, is what I recommend doing. The important thing is to eat this often so you benefit from the nutrients, not just once or twice for the whole summer lol!
Better yet, if you live near an apple orchard or a peach farm, make a day out of it and go apple picking with the family. Then you can come home and enjoy the fruits of your harvest! Nothing like burning some calories out in nature, to then eat a refreshing meal afterwards.
By the way, if these fruits aren’t in season at the moment because of winter… why don’t you give this recipe a try instead!
