Armageddon Meals – 5 Healthy Recipes When Stuck at Home

Corona Virus!

Ok, ok, you saw this post coming, right? The apocalypse— I mean COVID-19, the pandemic that has basically taken the world by a stormy surprise, leaving everyone stuck at home. All everyone wants to do is to be assured that they are taking the proper precautions to avoid catching it. Those of you with young kids and older adults living in your household are probably even more concerned. Let’s face it nobody wants any loved one to come down with this nasty bug.

I work right in the big apple, the bustling city that literally NEVER sleeps, and surprise surprise, now the entire city has basically mandated a shut down all to avoid unnecessarily spreading this bug any more than it already has. I can’t go to work even if I wanted to. For those of you living in large metropolitan areas you already know how easy it is just to catch a regular cold. The Facts are: Germs are everywhere and catching them is easy.

We don’t want people to be scared, we want people to be prepared” That’s literally how every statement, conversation, or newscast about COVID-19 starts, and I can see why. Fear always tends to make things worse, but I don’t blame you if this virus is making you a little apprehensive, and possibly stir crazy.

Going Stir Crazy? Me too!

A long line of projects await for me while being stuck at home and one project has frustratingly kept me occupied amongst the raging apocalypse is adding a water cooling system to my computer….

Watercooling my PC:

Funny enough (or maybe not so funny), I was on Google Hangouts one day, and suddenly I see smoke pouring out from my computer. I look over and my graphics card is on FIRE!!! So I yell, my husband comes running over panicking, I’m panicking, and I unplug my machine, and the fire subsided. But still, that burned most of my components, and my GPU was fried. I don’t even know what made it fault out like that because I was not doing anything that my computer couldn’t handle on a normal day. After that, I had no PC to use, because obviously I was scared to even touch it or turn it back on.

Thankfully, my insurance covered the damages, and with that money, I was able to dive into something I’ve never tried before but always wanted to…watercooling: using water inside of my PC to cool down my components.

Crazy right? But it’s actually a big thing in the PC building community. It’s also a very complicated with a sharp learning curve if you don’t know what you are doing! For the past few weeks, I’ve been learning about water cooling, what parts I need, how I want to set my build-up, etc. I ended up buying 99% of the parts I need, and assembling it the past 2 weekends, but each time I discover a part I am missing (like right now, my loop is half-filled with coolant, because I realized I need more coolant than what I originally purchased…so I’m now waiting for that to come in the mail). Meanwhile, the Coronavirus has me working from home, so I’ve been doing everything on my husbands computer (so thankful for this machine)!

Ahh well, more time for me to cook while stuck at home. That’s the latest in my world at the moment 🙂
